USE ONLY CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS THAT ARE COMPLIANT TO PRODUCT STANDARDS – LABAN KONSYUMER
Laban Konsyumer added recently in their advocacy the support to the Buy Pinoy program of the infrastructure projects or commonly known as Build Build Build.
Vic Dimagiba , Laban Konsyumer President said this will revive and create employment and help in the recovery of the country from the pandemic. Dimagiba added that consumers had to ensure that they buy construction materials that are compliant to product standards being implemented by the implementing agencies. Dimagiba requested the implementing agencies to publish the lists of legitinate brands of construction materials and their labels and markings for the information of the consumers.
Dimagiba was disturbed by reports that certain construction materials are being sold in the retail stores that are not compliant to the product standards. The savings in price should not compromise safety at all times.
Dimagiba lauded the implementing agencies which have been doing monitoring and enforcement in retail stores suspected of selling substandard construction materials. The samples of the construction materials are submitted for testing by duly accredited testing laboratories.
Dimagiba recommended that the implementing agencies should intensify its campaign with more monitoring and enforcement , the immediate closure of hardware stores that are found to be selling substandards construction materials and the filing and the publication of criminal charges against erring manufacturers, distributors, dealers and retailers .
